(This is not a technique class and no choreography will be taught).  It is an exercise class designed to increase stamina and burn calories by utilizing some yoga, pilates, belly dance isolation movements for stretching and warming up,,, then building up to numerous repititions of belly dance steps and combinations.  Therefore, participants will need to have completed at least one full session of belly dance class and/or have a good grasp of basic belly dance steps, as there will be very little instruction or breaking down of the steps we will be using in the drills.

This class is not being offered at this time and may resume in the fall

DIRECTIONS:
Reynolda Road (Hwy 67 N.) Turn right at lower entrance into Reynolda Village. It's the building immediately to your left, downstairs in the basement. There is a sign on the right side of the building that says 122 and Blacksmith Shop. If you are coming from Silas Creek Parkway North, turn right onto Reynolda and you will have to come to the Main Entrance into the Village and turn left at By Way Street. Then take a left and come down the main little street of the Village and turn left again as if you are headed out of the Village. The building would then be the last building on the right, directly next to the exit. Classes begin promptly, so please be on time. The first 15 minutes will be spent stretching and warming up. For class you will need comfortable exercise clothing such as yoga pants and crop/bra top or even shorts and tee shirts are fine, and a hip scarf or sash with fringe, tassels or better yet, coins (to accentuate your hip movements). A variety of hip scarves are available ranging in cost. Student zils are $12.00 per set. (All items plus NC sales tax). Bare feet are recommended, although soft ballet slippers are fine.
